Pinto Monteiro must be investigated for “stifle inquiries” into Sócrates

In this article, the journalist Manuela Moura Guedes, a person of moral integrity like very few others in Portugal (and who paid a high price for it), accused the former Attorneys General of the Republic, Pinto Monteiro and Cândida Almeida, of having “done everything possible to stifle the cases involving former Prime Minister José Sócrates“.

Yes, that’s 100% true! But what is really scary is that these two ex-prosecutors, under the political leash, didn’t even have to hide anything. The protection they gave to the corrupt Sócrates, but also to the whole corrupt political class and criminals in general, was blatantly obvious and clear as water to anyone with two brain cells and a grain of decency. In short, these two puppet prosecutors, who were corrupt to the core, if they had acted like this in a real and normal democracy, they would all be rotting in jail right now, in fact they would not even be allowed to work in the judiciary, much less be appointed to head the judiciary of a country whose main function is precisely to fight corruption. How convenient for corrupt Portuguese politicians!

The journalist also states that “it’s scary that everything was under control and nobody did anything”, yes, IT IS, and it will continue to be that way, because 5% of the decent Portuguese can’t do anything against 95% of the scum, which includes those Portuguese who just look the other way out of connivance and cowardice.

The journalist also said that she was “afraid” that they were “wanting to set the wheels in motion” on Joana Marques Vidal, the current Attorney General of the Republic, who “has proven that things are completely different with her”. And in fact that’s what happened, she was demoted because she didn’t sell herself to the politicians like the others.

So, at this moment, the current Attorney General of the Republic, Lucília Gago, is doing EXACTLY the same thing as these two puppets did before, protecting the crooks, and again, no one says or does anything. This is Portugal, a dictatorship permanently ruled by criminals with the connivance of a sympathetic and zombie population.

Journalist Moura Guedes accused the former prime minister of “controlling justice” and requested an investigation from the Public Ministry.

Manuela Moura Guedes called on the Public Ministry to open an investigation into the behavior of former Attorney General of the Republic Pinto Monteiro for having allegedly “stifled investigations” into former Prime Minister José Sócrates.

In an interview, on Wednesday, with the Evening Edition of SIC Notícias,

she accused Pinto Monteiro and Cândida Almeida of “having done everything to stifle” the cases involving the former prime minister, who she accused of “controlling Justice” and requested an investigation by the Public Ministry.

“José Sócrates managed to control Justice. The Attorney General of the Republic is appointed by the Prime Minister and appointed by the President of the Republic. He appointed Pinto Monteiro who did everything to hush up the complicated cases of José Sócrates, he and Cândida Almeida, who was in DCIAP, with the help of whoever was investigating the Freeport case in Setúbal, inspector Alice”, said Manuela Moura Guedes.

Manuela Moura Guedes said that “the whole scheme was set up in court”, highlighting that there were “too many cases and too many signs of fraud” related to Sócrates and that “the regime was in danger” with the control exercised by the then prime minister.

“Attorneys General must be the guarantor of legality and must be the most scrutinized,” she stated.

Manuela Moura Guedes also said she was “afraid” that they were “wanting to put the wheels in motion” on Joana Marques Vidal, the current Attorney General of the Republic, who, in the journalist’s opinion, “has proven that things with her are completely different”.

The journalist, who at the service of TVI investigated several cases related to José Sócrates, referred to his “friend [Armando] Vara” and Ricardo Salgado, the BCP, the Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) and the media,

arguing that “everything that was not controlled was hushed up”

Sócrates had “control of Justice, the financial system, with his friend Vara at BCP and CGD, and in the business environment with PT and Ricardo Salgado, with the media. What was not controlled [by Sócrates] was hushed up”, she declared,

saying that it was “scary that there was control over everything and no one had done anything”.

Manuel Pinho case “served as a match”

This interview came at a time when crimes were reported allegedly committed by the former Minister of Economy and Innovation Manuel Pinho (2005-09), in the Government of José Sócrates, who was uncomfortable that socialist leaders had also criticized him for having been accused of several crimes in ‘Operation Marquis’, leading to the former prime minister leaving the party.

In the opinion of Manuela Moura Guedes, Manuel Pinho’s case “served as a match that lit the thing” and the PS was “probably afraid that things would explode until the elections”.

TVI’s Jornal Nacional, on Fridays, was suspended in 2009 by decision of the television station’s administration, after a long controversy related to investigations surrounding the then Prime Minister José Sócrates.

Friday’s newspaper, which had Manuela Moura Guedes as its pivot, gave, among other news, special emphasis to investigations related to José Sócrates, in the cases of the degree, Cova da Beira and Freeport, among others, which triggered strong controversy with the former head of the Government,

who allegedly pressured the TVI administration to end that information space, with details of the government’s conversations to try to sell the television station becoming known later.
